Specific conditions due to COVID-19
- Approval Order of the Department of Health and Social Care of the UK Government on 30 March 2020
- Approval Order of the Department of Health of the Welsh Government on 31 March 2020
– Use of telemedicine and approval for home-use of both mifepristone and misoprostol up to 9 week + 6 days
– New guidelines support non-use of ultrasound at this gestation for example if LMP is certain and no significant risk of ectopic pregnancy
– Approval for EMA home-use includes postal delivery of medication
Legal conditions
- Two registered medical practitioners must certify that the required medical grounds have been met.
Specific conditions for minors
- Parent’s (or guardian’s) consent required for minors under 18 only if minors do not meet criteria for able to give own consent.
